Well well my dear friends, after midnight has caught me up again. It's been a super busy weekend, got in from Atlanta and knocked out the Mo'Nique Show," which by the way airs on Wednesday night" should be cool. Got my catering and special events project up and running as well, One bite specials events south introduces, Any occasions catering, and like here in La we do it all, birthdays, weddings, pool parties, movie screenings, studio shows, and private meal delivery to your home ,office and even your plane. Finally got my photos done for the start of  my new cook book, "Every Day American/ Southern".  My man Whitney flew in from Philly and got it done.

Got one more event to get done tomorrow, the big tasting for my dear friend Diann Valentine and the client. Got some great items on the menu, going to do White Rose Potato and Shrimp bisque, house made smoked salmon flat bread pizza, Maryland crab and shrimp salad with avocado, hand rolled balsamic glazed mini meat balls. Gonna saute some free range chix with a cilantro mayo, Got some other items as well.

Tried to have dinner some where nice tonight but Sundays are tough in LA, but i hit my Christan from the Sushi Roku group and he made me a res at Katana.  Went and had a good dinner on the patio .  Hmmm "thinking back for a sec"Funny thing is that soup is better if its sits for a night before you serve it so looks like ill get that done tonight.

I feel good  these days hitting the gym pretty hard and every day, work is good, I'm working and busy with several different projects ,  my show is still great ,catering writing, guest appearing and I'm so happy and lucky enough that people still like doing business with me.  Speaking of the gym ,Equinox  at Sunset this Sunday morning showed me one of gods  and this planets greatest creations, this woman was wearing all white with a short little bob cut. She walked in and set her self up on the spin cycle next to me and i thought to my self" What a beautiful Woman" and she smiled and i then though that their was no greater place to live on this planet. I pray  that i too am lucky enough to one day share  one of the greatest elements that we as gods children have "Love"with a woman like her.  Damn , quite frankly " Mommy was Bad"

Now my last great challenge is to find that some one for me whom is looking for a man that will love her, make love to her, make sure she knows how important she is, some one whom will let me make her feel like the only woman on the planet, some one that's willing to live ,love learn and teach, some one whom loves food and wine as much as i do. Their are many other things that i would love to share with this woman, so until next time when i will share a bit more, it's good night for now. Thank you for hearing how I'm feeling tonight. GG

G,

How sweet! That was wonderfully said. There's just something about a man who is not afraid to say what he is feeling. You keep posting comments like the one above and I am SURE you will get responses from women who would love to be " the one". Before you know it there will be too many to choose from! Caught your appearance on the Monique show; looks like you had a great time. Well, keep doing your thing and I will continue to keep an eye out for your latest happenings.

That is a very nice thing you said about the woman you would like to find and how you would treat her. I really look up to you for that and many other reasons. I am about to finish culinary school and now I'm looking to do my extern-ship. I didn't know that it would be so hard and I'm not talking about the cooking. When you are a person of color it seems that they give you a harder time. While school was fun and I learned a lot. I got most of my education talking to other chefs and seeing how they interact with me. Some times I feel like I have to prove myself and believe me I have the skills. With that being said it is a new adventure and I am ready for it. Me personally I'm not looking for a relationship right now. I want to get my things straight and be in a position where I can be a good wife and devote some of my time to my husband. You know if it happens it happens. I'm not the one to try and stop GOD's plan. Blessings to every thing you do.

Very nice site! I do however miss your show! I was looking today for some recipes for Seafood and something to put a different spin on chicken and I thank you for that. Cooking is my passion I will surely try some of your recipes.

Remember the woman to call yours will come to you at the right time and the right way. Until then continue to bring us great products, food, and entertainment!

Thanks!

Nice post!
I guess it's true what folks say, "The grass isn't always greener on the other side." Many people would like to believe that celebs/personalities have it all. That you would have no problem finding the "woman of your dreams". But we see it's harder than it looks. LOL.

It's good to see a brotha take his time and be mindful of what he wants and what it takes to find "the one".

With that said...when are you opening another restaurant! I don't care where it is in the country just open one!!!! LOL.

Hi Gerry,

My name is Shaneia and I'm in MD/DC area. Caught your show a few times and really enjoyed watching your energy. I'm a salesperson, so I have an appreciation for the way you market your product. Gives your food/show an identity. I think lots of men can cook but few can create dishes so I'd love to be in the kitchen with you.

I would love to hear what inspires you. Does color or music inspire a mood/dish? Your dishes make me think I'll feel something after tasting and that's what art or creation is about.

I was just curious to know which dish is your favorite to eat and which is your favorite to prepare and why? I have a feeling they are two different dishes. Words are to me what spices are to you... So details please

Your writing tells me that you like to invoke emotion from those you are entertaining. You like to pique an interest.. So I'm piqued... However, obtaining interest is for amateurs, maintaining interest is left to the pros. With that said... I'll hear from you soon...

G. Garvin,

I don't know you and won't assume I know you because I've bought your book or saw you on T.V. I will say that I get an impression of who you are through what you write and how you talk on your show and other appearances.

From what I can tell so far, you appear to be down-to-earth, attractive, real, confident, humorous, passionate, faithful, and hard working. As you are praying to meet and fall in love with a woman, I too will be praying that she possesses all the qualities you need and deserve.

Be patient and wait on the right woman and you'll avoid drama and heartache. The right woman will accept you for who you are where you are right now in your life and not try and change or challenge that, she will be a compliment to who you already are and inspire you to be who you're becoming.

Your "Bad Mommy" is out there waiting for the right time and opportunity to present herself to you.

I wish you the best of Luck!

Hi,

I was really moved and impressed by this particular post that you wrote. (Really heartfelt.)I know it's hard for men to express how they feel at times, so I thank you for keeping it real....

I can definitely relate to what you're saying about finding that special someone. How is it that it's easier for some people and difficult for others. I know some of the nicest and coolest individuals and you say to your self "How come their not with someone?" (I consider myself, one of those individuals. LOL) When it comes to love you have to do like that song by Donnie McClurkin says "We fall down, but we get up." Yeah, you got to keep trying.

Your time will come soon to meeting that special someone. Your a beautiful brotha not only in the physical sense, but also personality wise.

I just watched your appearance on Monique's show, and you did your thing! It looked like all of you having a ball. The dishes you prepared looked delicious.

If you're ever in the Boston or NY area, I would very much like to meet you in person. (I am a current culinary student and would love to hear your personal experience as a person of color entering this field.)

In the meantime, I look forward to your postings here on your blog as well as Facebook.

Much Blessings,
Vanessa LaBranche

As I sit here eating Chicken stuffed with basil and goat cheese, sipping a mild Tempranillo, I thank my nephew, who had to be 5 at the time, for introducing me to G Garvin. He very matter-of-factly said to me one day, "Auntie, don't you know who G. Garvin is? He looks just like LL Cool J, but he cooks!" And at 5, he was in the kitchen with my sister, helping heat things up with G. Garvin. Last week I was able to unwind on my couch while an entire marathon of G. Garvin's shows played on Centric. I sat there like a little kid learning something on the first day of school and ran to the kitchen to make white fish with a tomato wine sauce and parmesan grits. Now that I've moved to Atlanta I realize GRITS GO WITH EVERYTHING. Tonight I tried my hand with the stuffed chicken and I'm very pleased. One day, thanks to Mr. Garvin, some lucky man will be enjoying delectable meals that he'll think I created all on my own.
I can't wait til your in Atlanta again and hope that you will do something for your eager students!

I'm right here G, but God will have to lead you in my direction for it's the design of the Lord. I truly believe all things work together in God's timing. I will never lose hope to really get to know you even though we have crossed paths twice but it was not the time. I will patiently wait on the desires of my heart because what will be will be. However, I'm still in love with a G **Wink** Glass mirrors are so very clear when we look closely into them. Until we meet again be blessed & take care of yourself.

Wow. Interesting last thoughts. I was at your book signing here in Atlanta and showed you my vision board and you signed it( remember? I sat next to your nephew and he was taking 100's of picture of you-that's my boyyyyyy lol. I cheerish every shot.)

I just thanked God that I had the opportunity to get close to you and talk to you one on one and share you my vision. If you let God guide you, you won't go wrong.

When you told me that you never seen anything like my vision board, I knew then that there was so much more that you could experience, though you have traveled the world.

I really would love to be apart of your boot camp here in Atlanta (July 2010)in anyway possible. This way I can live my dream and "show you some more things you never seen" shhhh lol

Well, I'll check back with you and your thoughts. Stay blessed and thank your "twin" nephew for me. Holla- P. Dominique xo
